Mile Wide Beer Company, the Louisville-based brewery, will open its Owensboro Taproom, 119 E. Second St., on Friday, Nov. 13.
The story of Mile Wide Beer Co. begins with a few friends, a couple beers, and one big idea. Along the way there have been ups and downs, frustration, elation, and a near disaster or two. And we’re just getting started! The pictures below are here to serve as a visual history for years to come.
16 taps of Mile Wide beer will be available Friday, including Brabble Blonde Ale; Mando, a Star Wars-inspired beer; and Barrel Aged Imperial Uncle Disheveled, which is aged in Four Roses Bourbon Barrels for a year and then blended with cold-pressed Southern Pecan coffee from Louisville’s Highland Coffee Co.
Mark Calitri, President of Visit Owensboro said, “Owensboro went 117 years without a brewery. This year, two have opened.”
Calitri said, Owensboro continues to grow and our downtown is as vibrant as it has ever been.
