Owensboro Kentucky lands national PBS television broadcast!

Daviess County reported over $218 million in tourism spending last year and the Owensboro music scene played a key role in generating those dollars. Music fuels the power of tourism and is crucial to Owensboro having the ability to attract events that in drive our economy.

You don’t have to be a bluegrass fan; you just have to be a music fan to appreciate what the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame organization does for our Daviess County economy. Its not just the static displays of instruments or memorabilia. It’s a deeper, it’s the experience you get to have with the music that was born right here in this region.

Visit Owensboro is so committed that in 2020 we are partnering with Brand USA, that’s the marketing agency for the United States, on a multi targeted marketing campaign. One part of the plan is to build our own ‘city web page’ that will help put Owensboro’s stake in the ground as home to bluegrass music.

2020 is a campaign that the Kentucky Department of Tourism has created, and they will be unveiling more details soon. They had tremendous success last year with the ‘Savor the flavor’ campaign which featured the popular Bravo television show Top Chef.
