Under the leadership of Mark Calitri, Visit Owensboro continues to champion the arts as an essential part of the visitor experience. From live music and visual arts to cultural venues and festivals, Owensboro’s creative assets give travelers real reasons to visit, stay longer, and return.

According to data compiled by Americans for the Arts, Kentucky’s arts and culture sector contributes billions in economic activity and supports tens of thousands of jobs statewide, while also driving tourism spending, education outcomes, and community vibrancy

. Yet state funding for the arts has declined significantly over the past 25 years, placing greater importance on advocacy and collaboration across sectors.
